Parents: Due to sickness, Mrs. Manuello and Ms. Serrato will not be able to be at Parent/Teacher conferences tonight. Mr. Arnoldy will be available from 4:00- 6:00. We will be rescheduling times to meet with Mrs. Manuello and Mrs. Serrato at a later date. Thank you for your understanding.

Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd from 4:00-7:00. Elementary conferences scheduled were communicated directly with parents. All conferences will be held in teachers classrooms.

There will be no school this Friday, March 4th for Regional Basketball at Brush High School. Our Lady Longhorns will be playing Elbert at 10:00 am. We will be offering a spirit bus for any students interested in going to the game. Please contact the office or email Mr. Bowers by Thursday at noon (bowersm@lonestar.k12.co.us) if you would like to attend the game. All students/staff must pay their own admissions into the game. Go Longhorns!!

The regional brackets have been released. Our Lady Longhorns will play the Elbert Bulldogs at 10 AM on Friday, March 4 at Brush High School. .

Lone Star Lady Longhorn Alivia Weathers signs her letter of intent to attend Concordia College in Nebraska next year. She will be playing basketball and running track and received a scholarship for these sports. We are extremely proud of this young lady and wish her the best of luck in her future.

The game on Friday the 18th at Haxtun has been moved to 6pm.

Today's game starts at 3:30 with JH A girls, JH A boys, Varsity Girls, Varsity boys. Saturday's game starts at 4 pm with Varsity girls and Varsity Boys. Our Elementary K-4 will be performing at half time of each game. Grades 3 and 4 will be during the half time of girls game and they need to be at the school at 4:15 pm. Grades K-2 will be during the half time of the boys game and they need to be at the school by 5 pm. Please meet in Miss Serrato's classroom. There will be an FFA dinner on Saturday (see attached flier)

The FFA livestock grant due date has been extended until tomorrow (Thursday) at 4:30 pm.

This week at Lone Star: Today our High School Basketball Teams travels to Briggsdale. Girls play at 6 followed by the Boys team. Regional spelling Bee is at Haxtun tomorrow. Our Students competing will be leaving first thing in the morning. Thursday we will be having a makeup game vs Bethune at 3:30 pm With JH girls A team, JH boys A Team, Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity, Friday - GT Students have a field trip to NJC at 1PM and there will be a Valentine's Dance at 7-9 pm for Grades 5-12. Saturday HS basketball vs Flagler at 4PM Girls Varsity and boys Varsity, Elementary basketball debut will be at half time of both of these games. Elem. Students K-4th please be at the school by 4:15 pm.

On February 25th during our Adulting Day, Lone Star, partnered with NE BOCES, will be hosting a Reality Check with all 8th-12th grade students. During the event students are assigned a random annual income before travelling to booths like housing, clothing, insurance, child care, etc... to make virtual payments from their budget. Although they must visit every booth, they are empowered to make their own personal decisions. We would like every booth to be hosted by local volunteers from our communities. If you’re a local business and would like to be a volunteer at one of our booths please contact Mike Bowers at bowersm@lonestar.k12.co.us.

Tomorrow our JH and HS will travel to Deer Trail. JH will leave around 9:30 AM and HS will leave around 1 PM- it will be a long day for our students tomorrow so please make sure they have snacks, JH students need a lunch(pack a lunch or school bag lunch) or money for concessions. Order of games: 12:00 JH boys B (no girls B), 1:00 JH girls A followed by JH boys A, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys.
