Good evening Longhorn fans, for tomorrow's spirit bus we will be taking quite a few students, which is awesome. Just a reminder that the cost to enter the game for students is $5. We will be checking to see if students have that money prior to getting on the bus. If not, they will need to stay at the school. For lunch, concessions will be available or your child can bring a lunch. We are excited to cheer on our boys. At the game, the expectation is for students to be in the gym watching. If they are caught in hallways, common's area, or elsewhere they will spend the rest of their time sitting with the class sponsor and will not be permitted to attend future events. Go Longhorns!

Playoff Basketball: The rules of playoff basketball may be new or confusing to some so here is a brief rundown. 1A now uses the same playoff system as 2A & 3A where 32 teams make it into the Regional\State playoff bracket. These 32 teams are based entirely on the CHSAA seeding index and have basically zero to do with how your team did in the regular season against teams in your district. This means that you could lose at districts and still make the Regional\State playoff if your seeding index is high enough. This will likely be the case for our Lady Longhorns who are currently seeded #26 in the index. Regardless of their wins and losses this week, the ladies' season will continue into next week with Round One of the playoffs beginning Friday, Feb. 1st. The index will be recalculated at the end of districts, but it will be very unlikely for one loss to cause the girls to drop more than 6 spots. The boys' team has a tougher hill to climb since they are seeded lower than the top 32. The boys would need to be the district champions for their season to continue next week. Good luck to both teams at Districts. The ladies will take on Idalia at 6:30 Tomorrow in Idalia and the boys will play Arickaree in Arickaree at 6:30 on Wednesday! Go Longhorns!
