Reminder!
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for this Thursday, October 30th. Elementary teachers have contacted parents about their scheduled times and 7th-12th grade teachers will be in their classrooms from 4:00 - 7:00 to speak with any parents interested.
A couple side notes: Mrs. Vetter is at National FFA Convention and will not be available. If you would like to speak with Mrs. Vetter please contact the school or email her @ vetters@lonestar.k12.co.us
Also, Mrs. Ely will be having a meeting at 5:30 for all parents with students going on the Washington DC trip.

It's time for the YWKC League Tournament. It will be held on Monday, 10/27/25 at the Yuma Middle School. The longhorns first game will be at 9:00a.m. There will be a bus leaving Lone Star at 8:00a.m. for those athletes who will need a ride to Yuma. Please let Coach Lockwood or Peggy Fisher know if your athlete will be on the bus or will meet the team in Yuma.

Tomorrow will be out first Adulting Day of the school year. The theme for the day will be safety! We will have the Washington County Sherriff's office in the building going to each classroom (K-12) to talk about proper lockdown techniques and protocols. They will also be available to answer any student or staff questions. Officer Haas from Yuma will also be working with our high school students on self defense. They will be receiving some classroom instruction as well as a live, active training.

Tomorrow, 10/24/25, our Lady Longhorns will be traveling to Hi Plains for their final regular season game. Games start at 4:00 p.m. with JV and Varsity to follow. The bus will leave Lone Star at 1:15 p.m. with a stop in Yuma. Parents, if you want your athlete to drive to Yuma and be picked up there, please contact Peggy Fisher or the front office to confirm the plan. Thank you!

5th and 6th grade students will be attending a field trip to the Overland Trail Museum tomorrow in Sterling. They will leave the school at 9am and return around 1:30pm. They will need to bring a lunch unless they asked for a sack lunch already. Please also send them with money for ice cream if you wish.

Butterbraids will be delivered at 2:00 pm, tomorrow, October 23rd. Parents can start picking them up at 2:30. They will need to be in a freezer or delivered within three hours.

Tomorrow, 10/23/25, our Lady Longhorns will take on the Lady Warriors. Games will start with JV at 5:00p.m. followed by V. We also will be recognizing our seniors tomorrow night in between the games. Come on out and support our seniors last home volleyball game!!!

The class of 2027 are now selling breakfast burritos every Thursday during activity period for $4. We are allowing 6th thru 12 grade students to create tabs for breakfast burritos. If you do not want your child to have a tab please contact the school and let us know.

Our Lone Star Longhorns will be hosting the Briggsdale Falcons tomorrow 10/16/25. We will start off with junior high volleyball at 3:00p.m. Game order will be: (1) match of JH-C, full JH-B, full JH-A followed by HS JV and Varsity. Football kickoff will be at 4:00p.m. Also, tomorrow is parents' night! Athletes and their parents will be announced in between the JV and Varsity games.
