Reminder: Talent show forms are due by tomorrow Oct. 1st. The talent show will be held on Friday Oct. 8th at 5pm. We will have a coffee/tea and dessert bar for $3/Person to raise funds for the music department.
Tomorrow, September 29th, Lone Star will be taking all 8th-12th graders to Sterling to listen to Ethan Fisher speak at NJC. Mr. Fisher is a mental health advocate that draws from life experience to challenge, motivate, and inspire his audiences. Ethan Fisher is the founder of a non-profit organization that supports and educates students and student athletes. We will be leaving the school at 9:00 am and returning at 12:30. If you would like to opt your child out of the field trip, a form has been sent home with your student. Please sign it and return to the office. Thank you

JH Football is also at 4:00 ( will be doing a 5th quarter after regular game)

Reminder for all 7th and 8th grade Band students: The bus for the Cornfest will leave from Lone Star at 8:30 am. If you are not riding the bus, please meet the float in Haxtun in the Elementary School Parking lot by 9:15 am. The bus will return to Lone Star at around 11:30 am.

There will also be a burrito dinner today put on by the class of 2025.

Today: JH and HS VB - we will be doing an inner squad scrimmage with B and C teams at 3pm. JH A and B starts at 4 PM - followed by JV and Varsity.

Saturday: HS FB(Fleming) at Fleming at 1PM (homecoming game)
HS volleyball Parents and Athletes. We got the schedule for tomorrow's tournament this afternoon as they had some teams drop out. It May change again after the coaches meeting in the morning but they should not put us as the 1st game - which starts at 9am. The games will be consecutive and will not follow a specific time - it is just when the game before is done they will start the next. If games change I will send out as soon as I have it. Hanover is Remote in location like Lone Star so please make sure you pack a lunch (they will have a concessions) and fill your tank. If you need directions please contact me at 970-466-0090. FYI The gym is split into two courts and there is not a lot of room for seating. I am attaching the schedule as of this afternoon. Schedule change - due to transportation issues with Otis School District, the JH football game vs. Otis has been rescheduled for Oct. 9th at 10am at Otis.
We will still be playing Otis - JH and HS Volleyball on September 7th - we are going to play a C team game at 3 PM (may be an inner squad game or Otis might have enough girls to play - TBD) So C team at 3pm, 4 PM - B team, A team, JV and Varsity

Reminder: Tomorrow night, August 31st, we will have our annual back to school night. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 4:00-6:00 to greet families and answer any questions about the upcoming school year.
There will also be a Junior High and High school athletics meeting at 5:00 in the gym.
Parents of 5th graders! We will be meeting in the art room at 5:30 to discuss the transition from elementary school to junior high.
We received news this week that our school district has been approved to serve free lunch/breakfast to ALL students for the entire school year. We would ask that all families still fill out a free and reduced form for this school year as it greatly helps the district qualify for many grants. You can pick these up at the school or download here.

We have a scheduled our back to school open house for Tuesday, August 31st from 4:00- 6:00. All staff will be available to answer any questions for the upcoming school year. We look forward to another great year!
Tomorrow’s volleyball against Wray high school is going to start at 4 pm starting with JV and then Varsity.
UPDATE: there is a change in the route to head to Burlington tomorrow for HS volleyball players. The players that are able to go tomorrow will either need to meet at the pick up point in Yuma or meet the bus at the school. The bus will be leaving at 7:15 am sharp. The bus will meet the players in Yuma at 7:35 sharp. Remember to bring extra food and water since it will be all day. Please contact Coach Serrato if you have questions.
