The 2022-2023 school year is already underway! Welcome back to our students,
staff, and families. Lone Star would also like to extend a huge welcome to our new
students, staff, and their families! We are very happy to have you join our
Longhorn Community! Lone Star is home to a lot of great traditions! A few of
those traditions involve the Carnival and Christmas Tea. The Lone Star Community
Club oversees these events and welcomes anyone who wants to help or be a part
of it! Lone Star also has an After-Prom Committee. If you are interested in doing
any of these or have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Kuntz at 970-

REMINDER: High school volleyball will travel to Caliche today. JV will begin at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow.
Hearing and vision screenings will be Thursday, September 8.
Dental screening date change:
Screenings have been changed to Wednesday, September 7 at 8:00-8:30 a.m. If you still need a form for your child, please contact the office.

For those wanting to attend the Hanover Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 20, the Lone Star High School volleyball girls will play at 9 a.m. at Hanover High School. There is a gate fee of $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children over the age of 10. Children under the age of 10 are free. Seating is limited. Concessions are available.
Message from Chris Hornung, Otis SPYFL coach:
5/6 and 3/4 grade SPYFL parents: reminder that equipment checkout is this Sunday at Sterling high school. 5/6 grade from 12-2pm and 3/4 grade from 4-6pm. I suggest the 3/4 grade group get there early as they may be short on helmets. First game is Sept 10th and will be every Saturday morning for 6 weeks but we don't have schedules yet for times. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday after school (around 4pm) on north side of Otis football field and will last until 5:30. First practice will be this coming Tuesday and kids will be in full gear. Both age groups will practice together.

Good morning! Attached is our back to school letter. Reminder that our first day is Tuesday, August 23rd! Our transportation department will be contacting families next week regarding bus routes for the school year. We are excited for a new school year and can't wait to see all your kiddos!

High School Volleyball practice begins Monday, August 8th! 9:00 - 11:00
Junior High practice will begin when school starts on August 23rd.
Students, if you have not turned in your physical forms, that needs to be done prior to being able to practice.
Open gym for all JH and HS volleyball players will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays in August. 9:00 am - 11:00 am
